Split Manga Double-Page Spreads

Find two-page spreads in a chapter and cut them into single pages in the right reading order, right half first for manga, with optional gutter trim. Runs locally in your browser.

When to split

E-readers and phone readers show one page at a time, so a spread arrives small and sideways. Splitting it gives two normal pages that fill the screen. Keep a spread whole when the reader has a two-page mode or the art runs across the fold, such as a title splash.

Reading order

Japanese manga reads right to left, so the right half becomes the first page. Western comics, manhwa and manhua read left to right; switch the order for them. A CBZ whose ComicInfo.xml marks right-to-left sets the order automatically.

Detection and gutter

A page wider than 1.15 times its height counts as a spread. To split other pages, select them and choose "Selected pages". Gutter trim removes the same number of pixels on both sides of the fold, which hides the binding shadow of scanned books; leave it at 0 for digital releases.

Limits

Split halves are re-encoded; choose PNG for no loss at all. About 300 pages or 1 GB per batch is comfortable; larger batches still run but may run out of memory on phones.

Runs entirely in your browser, in a background worker. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed; closing the tab discards the work. Optional encoders, when enabled, are downloaded from this site's asset domain and checked by SHA-256 before use.
